Growing in Christ, Jesus cares, Jesus is Lord, Secret

The Secret Place

One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple. 5For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.

And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.…

Proverbs 27:5-6

In the secret place of His tent He will hide me.

I am so glad that:

1. I have found that secret place.

2. I know how to retreat there when I need Him.

3. I can retreat to Him, any time or any place- for this place is not a physical location.

4. I can hear Him clearly when I am there, if I only go there.

Discipline, LikeHim

Moving to a new city, this single lady has been struggling setting things up!!!

Man, I’m glad that I have my Dad, four brothers, and eight uncles! I sure do need ’em.

In my singleness, I have been slowly learning about tools.  This has not been a voluntary exercise, I have been required to do so … it has definitely not been easy.

It’s funny, I’ve got some tools that I have had stored away that I’ve never used! Lol. Others that I use, but use improperly.

Along these lines, the Lord has shown me that He as given us many tools that He wants us to use in our lives.  Unlike the tools encased in metal, plastic, and rubber,  when it comes to these types of tools, we dare not use the tools at all, determined to rely only on one’s body instead.  Doing this will result in many broken nails, Ouch!! We dare not use the tools inappropriately.

Here are some of the tools that we have been given that we must seek the Lord to use properly:

Social Media

Human Body

The Internet

… Details on using these tools properly will be added to a post yet to come!

Keep It Moving

God has empowered you!

By His grace, you are living in a time when you can be born poor but work to make a better life for yourself.
Likewise, we were born into sin and can repent then live without perpetual sin!

You are your own gas pedal
You are your own brake
You decide if you move forward or delay
You determine if you go fast or slow
You determine if you never move or never slow down

You decide how quickly you travel:
Around the corner
Around the curve

Through the mud puddle
Through the over-flowing pond
Over bad roads
Over ‘Rocky Lanes’
Over smooth pavement
Over bumpy dirt roads

You decide if you take the trip:
Despite sprinkles
Despite afternoon showers
Despite snowstorms
Despite blizzards
Despite icy windshields
Despite re-iced windshields
Despite hail
Despite thunderstorms
Despite oncoming tornados
Despite hurricanes
Despite tsunamis

You decide if you still want to make the trip even when you have to:

Wake up early
Stay up late

Drive with
Heavy Eyelids
Dreadful company
Best of Friends

You’ve got to make up your mind before you get in the vehicle.
I must make this drive.
I will make this drive, no matter what obstacles I face.
If my car breaks down.
I just need to get a repair or alternative transportation.
I’m not quitting.
I’m not taking a break.

I don’t care what I must go through!
I will take the hits and get back up and keep moving!
